Honor Guard Application Process
If you are interested in joining Honor Guard, please follow the steps below:
First Things First:
- Read the Honor Guard Mission, Vision, and Principles post very carefully. Make sure you understand and are comfortable with everything in that post.
- If you have any questions or concerns, message an officer in Agon: Freya DeArgus (Supreme General), Persefani Elleirion (Supreme General), Dagorian Strongveil (Supreme General), Torradan Dane (General). Ironbull LOH (Major), or Assio Meister (Major). We are always willing to talk to you.
- Register on this site to create a forums account. You will receive an activation email, so check your junk mail just in case it's routed there. Although you will not gain access to additional forums immediately, we will be able to begin the recruitment process. Note: When creating a forums account, make sure to use your player name exactly as it is listed in game, first name and last name.
- Apply to the clan in game by selecting Clans, Browse Clans, and searching for Honor Guard.
- All Honor Guard members must use Ventrilo to at least hear other members talking. Make sure that you have the Ventrilo client installed.
- Within two days of completing these steps, a senior officer will contact you to set up a time to talk on Ventrilo. At that meeting, barring anything that might change your mind or give our senior officers cause for concern, you will be admitted to the clan as a recruit.
More information will be shared with you during your meetings with clan officers. This is just a brief overview of what you can expect during your first few weeks in the clan. Honor Guard implements a relatively long initial promotion period wherein you progress from recruit to Private and then up through the ranks to Captain.
Recruits are not official members of the clan. This is a trial period that gives you and us a chance to see whether Honor Guard is the right clan for you. Typically, new members spend at least two weeks as recruits. During that time, it often becomes clear whether they should continue with the clan or take another path. During these first weeks, here is what we expect of all recruits:
- If you are new to Agon, complete your starter quests, complete at least one racial quest, and increase your gathering skills. Depending on where you begin, you may be adventuring alone for a bit during these first few days, but ask plenty of questions on Vent and in clan chat as you explore and learn. The clan is here to assist you.
- Become familiar with clan policies and abide by them.
- Use Ventrilo when in game to at least hear other members. Being talkative is not a requirement for membership in the clan. Some of us are very quiet and some aren't. There are quiet Vent channels available when needed, but we are a fairly social clan and talk is essential for coordination in battle, so you will need to speak up on occasion.
- Tell us a bit more about your character development goals, preferred play style, favorite weapons, typical play schedule, and whether you would be interested in becoming a clan crafter.
